Amazon PPC Leak Checklist

Run this before your next bid change. It is the checklist we use to find where ad spend leaks before it reaches your bestsellers.

1. Coverage gaps

  • Confirm every bestseller has sponsored coverage. Bestsellers running on organic sales alone are a common five-figure annual gap.
  • Make sure your branded search terms are defended so competitors do not buy your traffic.
  • List any product with sales but no active campaign, and map a campaign to it.

2. Wasted spend

  • Pull the search-term report and flag every term with spend and no sales over the last 30 days.
  • Add converting search terms as exact-match keywords, and negative-match the rest.
  • Check placement and time-of-day reports for spend that never converts.

3. Account drag that raises ACOS

  • Flag SKUs with zero sales in the last 30 days for pruning or relaunch.
  • Review the merchant-fulfilled vs FBA split. FBA often converts materially higher.
  • Look for a geographic over-index you can target with budget or messaging.

4. Prioritize the fixes

  • Rank every fix by money recovered, not by how easy it is.
  • Set a 90-day plan with the investment and the expected return laid out.
  • Re-run this checklist monthly so leaks do not creep back.
